ELKON’s fundamental principle for progress is the development of innovations for its sector. To consolidate the title of leader in the field of innovation development, last year the company took a revolutionary step by opening a new division – Center of Research and Development (R & D). With a view of widening the research areas, several departments were opened right away in the Research and Development Center this year: technical department, planning department, and laboratory. All departments of the Innovation Center are designed to coordinate and unite every activity that has been carried out by the company since its foundation. The crucial point to note is that the Research and Development Center is certified by the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology.

The purpose of the Innovation Center is to generate new ideas, high-tech solutions, and developments that can be implemented in production. The laboratory allows to make conclusions on the operational characteristics of materials and their compliance with high standards of ELKON by conducting systematic analysis of materials on their wear resistance, strength, corrosion resistance, etc. Research and development activities are carried out by 40 highly qualified engineers, and the work of the Center is monthly monitored by scholars and professors from scientific research institutes. At the moment, the Center has already completed developments such as twin-shaft mixer with a capacity of 9000/6000 l, Pan and Planetary mixers of 4500/3000 l capacity, tower-type batching plant, horizontal cement silo, and it is currently working on new design of twin-shaft mixer gearbox case on hinges, that would facilitate the maintenance and spare parts’ replacement, 200-ton cement silo and full range of equipment for vibropress production line. In addition, the Center certainly generates solutions for routine challenges in production introduces various advancements and additions, especially for specific projects.
