ELKON has huge technical, technological and professional capabilities that enable to undertake the most ambitious goals and successfully implement them.
Within 2014, ELKON completed a unique scale project in Russia with a Dutch company, which is to supply a special concrete batching plant for concrete coating pipe factory that is appropriate for giant oil and gas industry in Russia.
When steel pipes used in gas transfer are going to be located under the water, they are coated with heavy concrete which contains sand, iron ore and cement to avoid come to surface of water.
The accuracy of the grain size of the materials used here are critical for the product quality. Therefore, Aggregate Pre-feeding Systems are equipped with vibrating screens to prevent the entry of large-size aggregates and iron ore.
ELKOMIX-135TW Stationary Concrete Batching Plant which was designed specialy for this project is equipped with 4x20 m³ aggregate bunker.
The plant is equipped with ultrasonic level indicators which let its users to know the amount of the materials exactly in the aggregate storage bins.
Due to the continuous concrete requirement of the pipe coating machine, there is a holding hopper located under the twinshaft mixer discharge point. Thus, the concrete needed by the system can be provided continuously. However, if the concrete waits more than determined, this concrete will not transfer to the pipe coating machine and leave as wasted concrete. Wasted concrete can add in the production in certain percentages for the next productions. Special weighing and feeding system were developed to add the wasted concrete in to the mixture in specified rate.
