ELKON was founded by Mustafa Alpagut in 1975 in a small workshop. The company's name is derived from the Turkish words "Elevatör" (Elevator) and "Konveyör" (Conveyor), combining their first letters as "EL-KON."
In 1978, driven by increasing demand and the need for a larger production space, ELKON relocated to a new factory in Alemdag, Istanbul, with a total area of 2,500 m².
ELKON manufactured its first concrete batching plant in 1983. The ELKOMIX-35 model was equipped with a 750/500 l. pan mixer, marking a significant milestone in the company's history.
In 1985, ELKON successfully exported its first concrete batching plant, marking the start of its journey in the international market.
In 1990, ELKON inaugurated its ELKON-1 factory on a 14,900 m² area. Today, this facility produces twinshaft, pan and planetary type concrete mixers, along with stationary and mobile concrete batching plants.
Since its foundation, ELKON has prioritized innovation. In 2002, the company designed and produced Turkey’s first mobile concrete batching plant, the ELKON Mobile Master-60 Bear model. This groundbreaking model was subsequently exported to Oman. To date, over 1,000 mobile concrete batching plants in various capacities have been produced and installed worldwide, solidifying ELKON’s global presence.

ELKON achieved a significant milestone by delivering over 100 concrete batching plants in a single year for the first time. In response to increasing exports, ELKON opened the ELKON-2 factory on a 14,100 m² area in 2007. That year, ELKON ranked 371st among the Top 1000 Exporters of Turkey announced by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), underscoring its growing presence in international markets
One year after the opening of the ELKON-2 factory, ELKON expanded its operations further by opening the ELKON-3 factory in 2008, situated on a 7,000 m² area. This facility was established to meet the increasing demand for cement silos resulting from capacity expansion.
In 2009, driven by increasing exports to overseas markets, ELKON became the first company in Turkiye to develop compact concrete batching plants. These models were specifically designed for shipment in standard containers, offering exceptional mobility and cost efficiency. ELKON initially introduced the Elkomix-35 Quick Master model, followed by the Elkomix-60 Quick Master, further expanding its product range and delivering innovative, portable solutions to meet global demand.
ELKON embarked on its Industry 4.0 transformation with significant investments in automated technologies including robots, handling systems, factory automation etc. Today, more than 35 robots are employed for welding, drilling, grinding, cutting, and painting processes. These innovations have enabled ELKON to produce many components entirely without human interfrence, utilizing fully automated robotic systems.
In 2011, the ELKON-4 factory was opened on a 21,100 m² area due to the globally growing demand for high quality innovative products offered by ELKON. Currently, compact concrete batching plants in various capacities are being manufactured in this facility, further enhancing ELKON’s global reach and production capabilities.
ELKON achieved a significant milestone by exporting over 200 concrete batching plants for the first time. This success was driven by strategic investments, the ever-growing customer satisfaction, innovative products and the added value provided, fueling global demand for ELKON products.
ELKON's R&D team developed the ELKON Mobile Master-150 Elephant model in 2012, the world’s largest mobile concrete batching plant in its class. This plant is equipped with a 6750/4500 l. ELKON twinshaft mixer and can produce up to 150 m³ of concrete per hour, showcasing ELKON's innovation and engineering excellence
ELKON reached a significant milestone with its concrete batching plants being commissioned in more than 100 countries worldwide, showcasing its global footprint and industry leadership.
ELKON introduced the Mix Master-30 On-site Concrete Batching Plant, an innovative design by its R&D team. This plant offers an economical solution for producing concrete according to international standards, even for small-scale projects that require relatively small quantities of concrete.
Emre Alpagut, son of founder Mustafa Alpagut, joined the ELKON management team full-time, marking the beginning of the second generation's contribution to the company's legacy and continued success.
After more than 40 years, ELKON introduced a new brand logo to reflect its flexible, technological, and innovative identity. The new logo was the result of the "ELKON New Logo Design Competition," which attracted over 1,100 submissions.
ELKON introduced the ELKOBLOCK series of concrete paver and block machines, developed at its R&D Center with a wide experience in machine design and manufacturing. The ELKOBLOCK series of block making machines has already been operating in 20 countries, further strengthening ELKON’s international footprint in this new product group.
ELKON R&D Center, renowned for its innovative models and technologies, achieved a significant milestone by being officially registered as the 839th R&D Center by the Republic of Turkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology, further strengthening its leadership in the industry.
ELKON established ELKON GmbH in Germany, strengthening its presence in the DACH region. This strategic move allowed the company to offer sales, after-sales, and spare parts services in Germany and surrounding countries, bringing ELKON closer to its European customers than ever before.
